The Working Principle of Water Well Drilling Rig

Water well drilling rigs are generally used to complete drilling, pipe installation, well flushing, etc. The purpose of water well drilling rig is to reach an aquifer or water source deep below the ground. The final purpose is to find a clean water source.

You may use the multifunctional underground water detector to locate qualified drilling aquifers. If you do not have detection equipment, our UPE1000 and UDE2000 underground detectors are optional, capable of deep underground detection and resisting high underground pressure.

Before drilling, extend four hydraulic outriggers fully and make sure the whole rig stays stable; unstable support may lead to shutdown or safety hazards. Check fuel tank oil level, fasten all drilling components tightly, and clean up debris around the equipment and working area.

There are two mainstream drilling construction methods. The first one is mud rotary drilling, which supports matching mud pumps such as BW320 and BW200 on our official website, cooperating with roller drill bits. During operation, water or mud is pumped into boreholes to cool drill bits, carry rock cuttings, stabilize borehole walls and prevent leakage.

The second method is air DTH hammer drilling, matched with supporting air compressors including HG700-18 and other models we supply. High-pressure air from the compressor drives the down-the-hole hammer to break rock; compressed air also cools drill bits and discharges rock debris out of boreholes.
